Covid tests on arrival, complimentary quarantine stay and more – The iconic Soneva resorts in Maldives is all set to welcome guests from July

Bringing the sunny side of life back is the reopening of the island nation of Maldives. As many as 1,190 beautiful coral islands make up this small country which means its that many times the fun as each resort has its very own island- a sort of social distancing they have been always been practicing naturally. Their natural environment is unmatched, sheer bliss involving the blue ocean, white beaches, and clean air. This paradise on Earth is welcoming us, Earthlings, again but with norms of the new normal. Visitors should know that The Maldives has a fatality rate of 0.3% which makes this one of the countries with the lowest fatality rates in the world. This is mainly because of extensive testing and a significant increase in the capacity of their hospitals. This kind of quick and effective governance is what will be witnessed even after 1st July when the Maldives and its splendid resorts Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani open up. the pioneers of sustainable luxury have set up rigorous health and wellness standards in line with the government’s policy to ensure you have a safe and unforgettable holiday. A good but ‘cautious’ time begins with you landing at the picturesque airport. All guests will be greeted by one of their airport hosts and escorted to their lounge for a COVID-19 test using a PCR machine. The presence of masks is understandably going to be everywhere right from hosts to guests. It is important for guests to know the resort takes care of you the minute you set foot on Maldivian soil. Their commonly-used aircraft and transfer boats will all be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each transfer, and the hosts responsibly wear masks and gloves at all times. On arrival at Soneva Fushi or Soneva Jani guests will be pleased with the usual, very warm Soneva welcome including the bag for you to put your shoes in. You will be escorted to your villa and remain there until the test results are received and are negative which usually takes between 6-24 hours. This inconvenience is compensated in the form of 50% off on the villa rate for the first night. Unfortunately, if the results come back positive, guests don’t need to be afraid, rather simply isolate in their villa, and Soneva will immediately waive the daily rate of the villa for the next 14 days. The only charges will be meals and other incidentals.

Wellness has always been at the core of Soneva and now even more than ever before. Your holidays will be accompanied by daily temperature checks; the presence of trained nurses in the resorts is reassuring of immediate care and comfort if needed. Guests can be at ease mentally as their environment is thoroughly and regularly cleaned by disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. Holistic healing is achieved at Soneva resorts by focusing on all-round health not just external sanitation. Our immunity and correct eating habits will take us a long way which is why healthy foods at breakfast and complimentary immunity boosters, seasonal menus with organic ingredients, regular yoga, and meditation practices are all included as regular features at the Soneva resorts, where your wellness matters!
